What is Square Dancing?

Contemporary square dancing is a fun, vibrant & fast growing dance form. Done in groups of 8, dancers execute 'movements' which the caller (instructor) strings together into interesting & smooth sequences. This is set to modern, upbeat music from a wide range of genres & artists.

Learner classes are held regularly to teach you all the steps you need to know. Once you've learnt the movements, you can dance anywhere in Victoria, Australia or indeed the world! Square dancing is enjoyed by tens of thousands of people worldwide and is one of the fastest growing dance forms in Australia.

About Us

Australiana Dancers was formed in 2012 on the Mornington Peninsula of Victoria. Australiana South Gippsland was opened in 2024 and Australiana Bass Coast started a year later in 2025.

Australiana Dancers is one of the countries best known & largest square dance clubs, running 7 weekly sessions along with many special events & some of the countries most successful weekends.

The club is run by Kim & Jaden (pictured.) Expert teachers & dancers, they will ensure you are a superb square dancer in no time!
